In 1959, Clinton and Mickie Nauman purchased a Farm on Top of the Hill just North of Chillicothe, Illinois. Since then, the working farm has been home to cattle, chickens and many other types of livestock along with a 200 acre grain farm surrounding the homestead where corn and soybeans are still planted and harvested every year. Growing up, the Nauman children and their parents were very active in 4-H taking their livestock to show at the county fair every year – this is where Top of the Hill Farm first got its name.

Over time the livestock have slowly been phased out, leaving the signature cattle barn open for the family to renovate into a one-of-a-kind event venue. Many hours of hard work by the Nauman family, neighbors and friends resulted in a multi-purpose facility that can host groups from 20 to 250. Initially transformed to host a family wedding in the Fall of 2019, the barn has proven the perfect venue to gather all kinds of groups – family reunions, social clubs, volunteer groups, birthday parties, family holidays, work groups and many others.

Top of the Hill Farm, Event Venue and Gathering Place, is just that – a venue large enough to host a signature event but cozy enough for an intimate gathering of family and friends. Upon arrival, the iconic windmill that stands watch over the farmstead greets visitors while they take in all of the space that can be customized for events.
